China and India Pull Back From Himalayan Standoff


 NEW DELHI—India and China have started pulling back some of their troops from a standoff in disputed border areas in the Himalayan mountains, following recent talks between senior military leaders and diplomatic efforts to calm tensions, according to an Indian security official.

Chinese troops have moved back several miles from the front line at three disputed border-patrol points in one of the areas, the security official said.
